Compassion on the Road to Growth

· Motivation

A new day has begun. Starting the day with meditation before I enter my yoga practice or have my coffee seems to be the energy booster that I so desire early in the morning. Typically I feel rushed, trying to fit in yoga then meditation and then attempting a relaxed start in the day when I already feel late.

Today, however, I sit down to my computer to write after all the things have already been completed and I am already grounded and energized from the routine in the morning. It feels like a lightning bolt. It seems I can be a morning person after all. And all it takes is a little discipline!

I continually tell others the importance of having a morning routine – of understanding what it is that energizes them in their day/week/life and finding a way to incorporate snippets of that into their day-to-day, and yet I find it so difficult to do myself. So rather than beat myself up, I will have compassion that it takes time to develop these routines and rituals, and that I am doing the best I can (as are my clients!)

Compassion goes a long way. Especially on the road to feeling GOOD.
