What Dreams Do You Wish to Fulfill?
What Dreams Do You Wish to Fulfill?
We all have dreams we wish to fulfill.
Some may seem far away, some may be just within our reach. However you look at it – dreams don’t often appear before us fully formed at the exact moment we are ready for them.
In fact, the dream itself is the catalyst for what we want to create in the world and how we want to grow.
My dreams extend far beyond my current reality – not just to create in me a hunger to grow and reach that goal, whatever it may be, but also so that I can spend the next few weeks, months, or even years preparing myself to become the person that I will need to be in order to handle the dream I wish into being.
Whatever side of the manifestation spectrum you fall under, the reality is that we aren’t always truly ready for the things we ask for. As an ever-evolving, constantly changing human, we grow ourselves into who we will become, one step at a time.
Imagine that I want to be a bestselling author. The reality of waking up tomorrow and finding out that my book has reached the top of the New York Times Bestsellers List is pretty unrealistic. First of all because I haven’t written a book. Second of all because who would I be if every dream I ever had just appeared before me before I even had the chance to become the person I would need to become to integrate that new reality into my current life.
Sure, I can always learn by fire, but there is very likely an easier way to reach my goals than that.
For starters, crafting the dream should be exciting. You should feel so exhilarated by the vision you hold for yourself that even though you have no idea how you will possibly reach that goal, you cannot wait to get there.
Then, you should start to notice the people around you (or not around you) who have come closer to achieving what it is you want to achieve. You can actually see their success and know it’s possible, thus giving your own dream more weight. More possibility.
Allow your perspective to continue expanding until you become the person you need to be to welcome that dream wholeheartedly into your life. Even though your dream may excite you, you might not be fully ready for it.
For everyone who dreams of financial wealth but who has no clue how to manage money – what good would it do them to suddenly receive a check for $500,000 if they have no idea what to do with it.
Your dreams focus your energy and effort towards a greater version of yourself. You must step on a path of development to become the person that has achieved what you hope to achieve, so that by the time you reach that place you are not only ready for it, but it feels normal to you to be there.
Keep a light shining on your big vision and allow yourself the time to become who you are becoming. Don’t fall into the trap of wishing things would already fall into place today, for you might not truly be ready to handle it if it did.
Each step of the journey helps you grow, learn, shift, and expand. Trust the process of becoming.
